BR (ex LNER) Gresley V2 class 2-6-2 no. 60983. BR (ex LNER) Gresley V2 class 2-6-2 no. 60983. A well built model built from the popular DJH kit with an RG7 Portescap motor and gear unit, Slaters wheels and power collection by plunger pickups. Now fully restored from its previous play-worn condition, and superbly repainted and lightly weathered by Warren Haywood.
60983 was the last V2 to be built in 1944 and as proved by the numerous photos in books and on the internet, 60983 (in the condition modelled), of top shed, was a regular performer in the late fifties and early sixties, on the classic trains such as “The Scarborough Flyer” and “Scotch Goods”.

BR (ex LNER) Gresley rebuild of the Holden B12 class no. 61554. This refurbished model was originally very well built from the superb Connoisseur Models kit, with a robust and powerful motor and gear unit, probably a Crailcrest, Slaters wheels and power collection by plunger pickups on loco. This model was a recent and risky on-line auction buy, and it’s quality of build has proved to be very good value for the risk. Now stripped of original paint, refurbished where necessary, a top quality repaint with light weathering by Warren Haywood, she looks as good as she performs on the track.
On the 8th May 1955, 61554 took the nine coach East Midlander rail tour from Nottingham Midland to Crewe Basford Hall sidings, North Stafford sidings, Crewe Works and terminating at the Stone Yard Bank.

LNWR Bowen Cooke Claughton class 4-6-0 no. 2420 Ingesture. Superbly built from the David Andrews kit by Martin Wyatt with the smooth, quiet and robust Crailcrest motor and gear unit, Slaters wheels and power collection via plunger pickups on the loco and wipers on the tender. Painted by Ian Rathbone to a very high standard, the model is featured on Ian’s website as provenance. https://www.ianrathbonemodelpainting.co.uk/

The RCTS book “L&NWR Locomotive Names” states:
Ingestre Hall was the seat of the Chetwynd family, Earls Talbot, near Stafford.
In 1846 when the LNWR was formed, the first use of the name was on a small firebox 2-2-2.
In 1872 the name was used on a Southern Division 2-2-2 Large Bloomer.
In 1923 Claughton no. 2420 was named. “Ingestre”.
