BR (ex LNER) Gresley V2 class 2-6-2 no. 60983. BR (ex LNER) Gresley V2 class 2-6-2 no. 60983. A well built model built from the popular DJH kit with an RG7 Portescap motor and gear unit, Slaters wheels and power collection by plunger pickups. Now fully restored from its previous play-worn condition, and superbly repainted and lightly weathered by Warren Haywood.
60983 was the last V2 to be built in 1944 and as proved by the numerous photos in books and on the internet, 60983 (in the condition modelled), of top shed, was a regular performer in the late fifties and early sixties, on the classic trains such as “The Scarborough Flyer” and “Scotch Goods”.
